Episode Ten
This week:
It’s been a long and difficult year in Dublin Zoo’s
Brazilian Tapir house, particularly for old Marmaduke,
who lost both his daughter Diego and Hillary, his partner
of 25 years. A new younger female arrives to keep him
company, but will the old tapir take to his new companion?...
Dublin Zoo is finding it difficult to successfully breed
their pair of Snow Leopards. After observing them closely
for some time, it’s clear to Team Leader Ciaran
MacMahon that something is stopping the male from mating.
It’s off to the veterinary hospital in UCD to investigate….
As zookeeper Susan O Brien says an emotional good bye
to one baby, Diego the Tapir, her spirits are suddenly
lifted as she gets a long awaited call that two new baby
Pygmy Marmosets have just been born.
It’s been six months since a male Mangabey monkey,
as part of the breeding programme came to live with the
resident troop on the Mangabey Island. He has done is
job well and there seems to be new little addition to
the troop!....
There’s huge excitement at the Western Lowland Gorilla
habitat when it looks like there might be a new baby gorilla
on the way. Every precaution has been taken, so for James
Creighton and the rest of the gorilla team, all they can
do now is wait…
