The smallest of all the existing tiger sub-species, Sumatran
tigers are perfectly adapted to life in the jungle. They
move easily through the rainforest and have webbed toes
to help them swim fast. They often drive hoofed prey into
the water. Only a few hundred of these cats survive in
the wild, mainly in game reserves and national parks,
but they are still regularly shot by poachers.
